Charisma (The video game stat) is often used to portray a characters social ability

Usages in Videogames

Combat

Charisma is most often used for buffing a characters allies, and debuffing enemies. This is most often done by either motivational messaging or magical spells, both of which effecting the ability of creatures around the character.

Utility

The main utility given to charisma is the ability of characters to persuade, deceive, and intimidate others. The stat is often left separate from a characters ability to read someone's intentions. Another usage is giving players discounts when haggling for an item.
