Every world has its own World Series, which, in most cases, determines the best baseball team in their respective world.

Grass World

In the Grass World, all teams are eligible for qualification, in most, if not all cases through continental championships. The qualifying teams then face off in a specific location to determine the world champions.

Real World

And the pitch is hit in the air, foul, off first. Benzinger backing and calling... and the 1990 world championship[citation needed] belongs to the Cincinnati Reds!
  — Marty Brennaman, 1990 World Series Game 4 (Cincinnati Reds at Oakland Athletics)

In the Real World, the World Series is only contested by teams from the National and American Leagues, which only include teams from the United States and Canada (the latter only having an AL team). So, unless the World Series is reformed to allow teams from other leagues around the world, including minor leagues, the term "World Series" is a misnomer and as such, the winners are not truly world champions. The most recent winners are the Texas Rangers, champions of the American League, who beat the Arizona Diamondbacks of the National League in five games.

1989: In the first cross-town World Series since 1956, despite being delayed by an earthquake, the Athletics sweep the Giants to win their first title since 1989.
1992: For the first time ever, a non-American team wins the World Series, after the Blue Jays win over the Braves.
1993: The Blue Jays retain their championship status after Joe Carter's Game 6-winning home run, causing SkyDome (now Rogers Centre) to erupt.
2001: The underdog Diamondbacks upset the Yankees after a walk-off base hit during Game 7. Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Field) bursts in cheers as the city of Phoenix is given its first major championship.
2004: The Red Sox finally win the title after 86 long years of waiting.
2009: The Yankees win their record 27th and most recent title.
2016: The Cubs make history after winning the title for the first time since 1916, a 108-year drought.
2017: The notorious Astros beat the Dodgers to win their first title ever.
2018: The Red Sox win their first title in five years, again beating the Dodgers.
2019: The Nationals win their first title ever, defeating the Astros in Game 7.
2020: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dodgers win their first title since 1988.
2021: In the first season since lockdown, the Braves win their first title since 1995.
2022: The Astros win their second title over the Phillies to much dismay.
2023: For the first time ever, the Texas Rangers win the World Series over the Diamondbacks.
2024: Dodgers vs. Yankees, seemingly an instant classic. But the Dodgers, with Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, and all the like, became the force to be reckoned with.
2025: The Dodgers silence Toronto with back-to-back titles.
