The legendary critic of American cities, cars, trams, trains, and planes. Why is he legendary? Well, he suggested the following:

  • Americans should take the train instead of adding one more lane in hopes that it will fix traffic.
  • The American railway network should be nationalized. Or, at least, they should bring back Conrail.
  • Houston should consider improving its suburbia.
  • Electric cars are bad.
  • More trains should use electric locomotives instead of diesel locomotives.
  • Freight trains should be used more often as opposed to trucks.
  • Metra must change.
  • Burying highways underground still won't work.
  • Trolleybuses are superior to electric buses.
  • In a car-centric society, LRVs are superior to trams.
  • Parking garages are bad.
