Archaea

Archaea are prokaryotic organisms, lacking DNA and organelles. They were previously thought to be bacteria, but as it turns out, they are an entirely different breed. For example, the cell walls of archaea don't contain peptidoglycan, whereas the cell walls of bacteria do. Therefore, usage of the term bacteria to describe archaea is now obsolete.
