Baikal Mountain is one of the tallest peaks on the planet, surrounded by patches of Baikal Forest some 2,763 miles away from Lake Baikal. It is a key player in shaping the area's skyline. Blizzards in the area can be harsh, and very few animals have survived such bitter conditions, including the okinptarmigan.
