Conlang Cantata
The Conlang Cantatas are a series of upcoming musical collaborations by musical project Babel. They blend together various constructed languages in a beautiful composition celebrating the conlang community. Anyone who is willing to collaborate and make a poem in their conlang (or any big conlang like toki pona or Esperanto) can just contact the project manager.
Despite the name, the Conlang Cantatas are in no way similar to classical cantatas.
No. 1 "Ho, mia kor'" in G minor
The first composition is in BABABCB form. It begins with a slow, solemn 70 BPM chorus in Esperanto:
Ho, mia kor', ne batu maltrankvile,
El mia brusto nun ne saltu for!
Jam teni min ne povas mi facile,
Ho, mia kor'!
Ho, mia kor'! Post longa laborado
Ĉu mi ne venkos en decida hor'?
Sufiĉe! trankviliĝu de l' batado,
Ho, mia kor'!
The tempo suddenly rises to 100 BPM as the pre-verse in toki pona is sung:
mi jo e kili.
ona li pona li lili.
mi moku lili e kili lili.

- toki pona will be in every Conlang Cantata.
- The Conlang Cantatas would've been called Constructed Criticism, but that sounds too close to Conlang Critic.
- The Conlang Cantatas were inspired by the great Sami Yusuf, who uses multiple languages in many of his compositions, as well as the Cursed Conlang Circus.
