Kampala is the capital city of Uganda. Its name comes from Kampala Hill, which in turn is a colonial name that comes from Baganda Akasozi ke'Empala, meaning "hill of the impala". This was where the Kabaka, the king of the Bantu kingdom of Buganda, hunted antelope, namely impala.
