Oblate spheroid

did you know that the earth is not a perfect sphere? see, because of the planet's rotation speed, the earth actually bulges around the equator by a few kilometres, as well as flattens at the poles. this is what is known by many scientists as an oblate spheroid. but even then, because of the many mountains, valleys and craters, its not smooth either, making it not a perfect oblate spheroid.
