Tyrannosaurus rex
Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex, meaning tyrant lizard king) is the ultimate predator. With a bite force of over five tons, this fearsome dinosaur from Cretaceous North America can bite even the toughest hides with enough strength to crush a car. It has a preference for large herbivores like hadrosaurs, ceratopsians, ankylosaurs, and sauropods. It may occasionally go after giant sea turtles. T. rex sometimes work together in attacking prey that would otherwise be difficult to catch. Some dinosaurs may tend to challenge an adult T. rex, including Quetzalcoatlus, among the largest pterosaurs in existence. Similarly, some of the aforementioned herbivores have evolved defensive weapons, such as the three horns of Triceratops.
T. rex's massive size is comparable with other ferocious predators like carcharodontosaurs, mapusaurs, giganotosaurs, and spinosaurs, though it's not the tallest. It has the largest eyes of any dinosaur, equipped with exceptional night vision. With cushioned pods on their two feet, T. rex can move stealthily through the forest. Through hollow bones, T. rex is also a good swimmer, though it can't stay in the ocean for long, as mosasaurs rule the pool.
