The stegosaur, or roof lizard, is a spiky beast that's been known to step on unsuspecting trespassers and thagomize intruders. It notably has tall plates lined up on its back that work as a display mechanism. The front legs of the stegosaur helped it to graze more easily.

In Walking with Dinosaurs − The Arena Spectacular, a stegosaur is the first Jurassic dinosaur to enter the arena. It is then challenged by its apex predator, an Allosaurus. Though it fought well with the allosaur with its thagomizer, it fled in the end because of a "wildfire".
