Greet is a cyberpunk food named after "green meat" and some guy shoves it in the hero's face and says "Hey, want some greet?" and it's meant to show us how food sucks in the Future.
Yuck! This smells awful!Don't worry! You won't be eating greet on the battlefield anytime soon. Here in Brawl, greet has a different purpose.

WHAM!Greet can be thrown at opponents. It's slow and it can't go very far...but when it hits, it hits hard. Ouch.
Beware its odorous Stink—characters can take serious damage just by standing near greet! Greet that is left to spoil has an especially potent stench. So, don't keep it in your hands too long.
