Despite America's first transcontinental railroad being called "transcontinental", it didn't necessarily reach the East Coast; it was only constructed from Council Bluffs, IA to Oakland, CA from 1863 to 1869, when a special ceremony took place at Promontory Summit, Utah, where the golden spike was driven, linking the continent together for the first time. 150 years later, Big Boy and his good friend No. 844 went to Ogden for another special celebration.
