São Tomé and Príncipe is a lusophone island country off the coast of Cameroon in Africa that mainly consists of the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe. These volcanic islands are very biodiverse, with São Tomé being mostly covered by Ôbo Natural Park. Lagoa Azul lies on the north of the island. Príncipe, meanwhile, was established by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. Both islands have endemic species (some critically endangered), including a very recently discovered species of owl.
