Cameroon

Cameroon is a very diverse country, geologically and culturally, giving it the nickname "Africa in miniature". It is home to makossa and its successful national football team which last appeared in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, beating 5-time world champions and football powerhouses Brazil in the process. The Cameroonians were the first African team ever to make it to the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup, having beaten Colombia 2–1 in 1990, only to be defeated by England 3–2. Ghana's Black Stars, named after the Black Star of Africa on the Ghanaian flag, would achieve this feat in 2010 on their home continent (specifically in South Africa), but unfortunately lost to Uruguay on penalties after a scandalous match.
