This sounds like the flag of Finland, but it's not. Unless...

Finland is the easternmost of the five Nordic countries. It is home to countless saunas and 187,888 lakes, including Saimaa, which in turn is home to the Saimaa ringed seal, one of two freshwater ringed seal subspecies and thus a potential subject of nerpulation. Saimaa lies east of the capital Helsinki.

Despite the Mercator projection's deception, Finland's northernmost tip is closer to Greenland than Poland.

Education

The Finns have mastered education by utilizing how children learn more effectively when they interact with things. School starts rather late compared to most other countries, at around 9:00 AM. A typical first class like math doesn't have lots of lecturing — rather, for example, base-10 blocks for exploring arithmetic and other numerical concepts, often in groups. After 45 minutes of exploring, students head outside — in fact, it's mandated. Mid-morning classes could be something like making music with real instruments, crafting and woodworking (sloyd), and environmental studies (blending science, geography, and civics) outdoors. All students receive free hot lunch every day. They eat calmly and converse with others. Then it's back to the classroom in the early afternoon, where once again students all discuss with one another. Finnish schools have very little homework or standardized tests, but if they do have the former, then it would be designed to be done in up to 30 or 60 minutes. Finnish schools feel more natural for children. They are healthy environments where their brains can sprout freely, as opposed to listening to hours of lectures where that sprout droops. Michael Moore showed this philosophy to the world, and it made people like me wonder what would happen if Canadian and American schools were like that.
