Singapore is a city-state in Southeast Asia. It is the largest city-state in the 21st century, and its name means "Lion City". Despite having hundreds of skyscrapers, such as the remarkable Marina Bay Sands, it is not the densest country in the world (that would be Monaco).

Singapore's four official languages are English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil, a unique blend of Indo-European, Austronesian, Sino-Tibetan, and Dravidian languages.
