The national instrument of Zimbabwe, the melodious mbira dzavadzimu.
Zimbabwe is a country in sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for the thundering Victoria Falls along the Zambezi River. The capital Harare is a modern city with iconic attractions like the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is home to the ancestors of the modern kalimba, the most notable of which is the mbira dzavadzimu. Such instruments are important in Shona culture.
Zimbabwe borders the Zambezi; uniquely, people taking a ferry from Botswana to Zambia or vice versa have to cross through Zimbabwe. This is among the shortest ferry routes that cross three countries.
