Türkiye, formerly spelled Turkey, is a transcontinental country spanning Europe and Asia. Its capital is Ankara while its largest city is Istanbul, the only city that sits on two continents. With such a unique geographical position came a rich political history, seeing the likes of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires.

Though Istanbul's position on two continents is unique, other countries within two continents exist, such as Russia and Egypt.
