The Wikilandian Association of University and College Athletics (WAUCA) is the national governing body of intercollegiate athletics in Wikiland. Thousands of schools compete against each other in various sports, including, but not limited to football, American football, basketball, baseball, track and field, swimming, volleyball, wrestling, ice hockey, and rugby. All schools have at least one football team and one basketball team, though baseball and American football are popular choices as well.

Football

Intercollegiate football is overseen by WAUCA as opposed to the WFA, which oversees professional competition. A typical season works in a way similar to the NCAA in the United States. The top teams in each grove are ranked in a poll. The 165 groval champions directly qualify for the postseason WAUCA Cup alongside 91 at-large bids, culminating in the final—the national championship game. The Collegiate Invitational Cup and Intercollegiate Football Tournament are contested by teams who haven't qualified for the WAUCA Cup.

Both the groval and national championship games are held at a neutral site.

American football

Basically the same as football, but the there's a national poll showing the top 25 teams in Wikiland, and the top 16 qualify for the postseason culminating in the Nerpa Bowl.

Despite WAUCA competition being amateur, it is the highest level of American football in Wikiland. It would be hard to create a 64-team professional competition in a vast country with 166 groves, each having a major city, also considering the NFL's teams are franchises, a practice unheard of outside of the United States and Canada. Not to mention the sheer amounts of money behind the NFL.

Basketball

Wikiland's March Madness is four times bigger than in the U.S., with 260 teams compared to 68, featuring the 165 groval champions and 95 at-large bids. Eight teams play four play-in games—the opening games of the tournament—to determine the final four entrants on the 256-team bracket.
