Jade
Jade is a color in the color wheel. It is a variant of green that has embraced blue philosophies with a sense of darkness. Jade is also a precious gem, of particular import in East Asian and Mesoamerican cultures.
In China
In ancient Chinese mythology exists a Jade Emperor. One story tells how he pits 12 different animals in a swimming race in order to measure time. The rat won the race after riding on the ox's back and leaving his sleepy cat friend behind. The dragon came in fifth, but nevertheless the Jade Emperor had tremendous respect after saving a burning village. The rabbit came in fourth after falling in the river, though he was luckily saved by a gust of wind.
