Black is the color opposite of white. In terms of paint, black is all the colors, but in terms of light, black is the absence of color. Black is most commonly encountered in the dark and night, though coal, obsidian, mirrors, and parades are also common black items. Basically no flowers are black, as even the black bat flower is sort of a really dark purple. The other black flower is the dreaded wither rose. History

Black was likely one of the first colors discovered, as people would see it if they just closed their eyes. It would later be found useful in making lineart.
