2020 Mario Party presidential campaign

A pro-MP poster. These were printed out so aggressively that, in the United States, the entirety of the Hudson River was flooded with mushy paper absorbing the stream, triggering a world health crisis once it swept into the Atlantic Ocean.

The Mario Party collectively announced a presidential campaign in every single country following the destruction of the party headquarters, with Perry Llelogram unanimously being selected as the party candidate, although under decentralized leadership. The party's global candidacy came as a shock to the world following the Belarusian Crisis, with them shortly being banned in many countries following their announcement.

Perry Llelogram consistently polled as the front-runner in the Mario Party primaries, likely because he was the only candidate. After the primaries, they had come to the forefront of the elections in the United States, Uzbekistan, and, by technicality, Belarus.

Within the United States, their presence in the 2020 presidential election led to the race being a three-way tie between the Democratic Party candidate, Joe Biden, the Green Party candidate, Head of Lettuce, and the Mario Party candidate, Perry Llelogram. They also ran against the BREAKFAST Party, despite them not fielding a candidate. Somehow, the Mario Party lost that in the early polls. The Mario Party received endorsements from Bernie Sanders, who had snapped by that point, and ended up becoming Perry's running mate. Perry Llelogram and Bernie Sanders had a falling out by the time the election was drawing near, and ended up splitting the caucus in half, forcing the Mario Party to withdraw. Reportedly, this falling out stemmed from Bernie beating Perry in Playstation All Stars and Perry getting really really mad and angy.

Within Uzbekistan, they faced numerous legal threats from incumbent Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who said "dude you're not even a legally registered party in Uzbekistan what are you doing". Perry Llelogram proceeded to stick his toing out at Mirziyoyev and go BLEHHHHHHHHHH. Shortly after, Mirziyoyev was detained and exiled to Belarus, where the Mario Party, to this day, keeps him in a cage and feeds him bananas and makes him go ooh ooh aah aah. However, his disappearance caused greater problems; within the opposing party, the power vacuum led to none other than Counter-Perry becoming the leader of the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party, and IT ended up becoming the undisputed President of Uzbekistan.

International reactions to the New York incident.

The Mario Party won in Belarus by default, leading to international condemnation as they became the undisputed junta of the country with Perry Llelogram as the Supreme President. The United Nations established the Belarusian International Quarantine Zone. In response, Perry proceeded to nuke the entirety of New York. The Mario Party was never allowed to run for a presidential position ever again in any country. Perry said it was sorry.
