The Okin Flyer has a rich history spanning from its proposal to the Tobish government to the present day. It has heavily grown over the years, with new research stations being added every month.

Backstory

The Toba Institute is one of Tobaland's largest corporations, specializing in research of the natural and human world. Its first major milestone since creation was the launch of the first Toba Aquarium in the capital Nerpington. From there, the Institute would make aquariums, zoos, museums, and many other unique buildings throughout The Wiki Camp 2. Despite its massive campwide popularity, it would take a while to travel between worlds, so something had to be done.

Proposal and creation

Hey, why don't we have a gigantic mother ship with smaller spaceships in it so we don't have to waste too much time?
  — Whoever proposed the Okin Flyer, 1967

The Flyer was first proposed on 25 March 1967 by Stingy from LazyTown (as part of his plan to own every single animal, plant, and ecosystem in the universe) to the instant approval of the King of Tobaland. Construction of the first several modules instantly began.

Phase I

The main module of the Okin Flyer was launched on 14 August 1974, 24 years before the first module of the International Space Station launched. This soon followed with the launch of the first few research stations. The first vivarium was a paludarium based on Russia's Lake Baikal dedicated to the research of its pinniped inhabitant, the nerpa. However, the seals weren't the first inhabitants of the paludarium, because the Institute adopted a unique research model that prioritized natural behaviour of the plants and animals, including food webs. The seals finally arrived upon the introduction of its main source of food, the golomyanka. With the completion of the food web, an artificially created, self-sustaining ecosystem was established.

Hundreds of aquatic ecosystems soon followed. Coincidentally, each vivarium is equivalent to a tank at Japan's Toba Aquarium, the first outside of Tobaland.
