Orca
The orca (Orcinus orca), орца in Cyrillic (specifically Serbian), όρκα in the Greek alphabet, or killer whale, is a majestic whale found throughout the world's oceans. It is the largest and one of the most distinctive species of dolphin in the world.
Orcas are considered to be one of the most beautiful things ever. Their intelligence, their playfulness, their ability to hunt seals. We love to see them swimming around gracefully. For these reasons, many are suggesting we use orcas to help us in the total seal extinction event. Orcas also love to eat great white sharks, Antarctic minke whales, Dall's porpoises, and as a treat, rich people.
History
Orcas were first described in Roman antiquity as an animal belonging to Orcus, a god of the underworld. Orcas are the bullies of the ocean, and so it would seem like they would be ferocious towards humans. However, orcas seldom kill humans. This was proven when the wildlife documentary Free Willy was released for the world to see. The worldwide consensus on orcas drastically changed positively, and now millions flock to SeaWorld to see these animals up close.
