Philosophy

Shimeji Simulation is known for incorporating many philosophical questions in the story, often directly stated by the characters.

Examples include:

  • wouldn't it be fucked up if you had something on your head
  • if two girls were in a dream and one saved the other with a pencil case would that be fucked up or what

Trivia

  • "Shimeji" refers both to the type of mushroom on Shijima's head, as well as Shimeji "desktop pets," downloadable programs or browser extensions that allow small characters to walk around a computer screen
    • The main character is also called that.
  • This is the second serialized work by Tsukumizu, the first being Girls' Last Tour. The two works carry no relation, though they share a similar art style.
