How many even are there?

California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) are among the most abundant pinnipeds in existence, as they have been known to take over sandy beaches, rocky coasts, and even piers, ranging from Alaska to Mexico, although a population in the very similarly-named archipelago exists as well. This, combined with their intelligence, makes it harder to make them extinct.
