Purple
Purple is the seventh and last color of the rainbow. Or that's violet. Due to this eternal confusion, purple has had to fight tooth and nail to prove its worth. But its name is just too silly. Purple can be made by combining red and blue. In color theory, purple really only means royalty. Grapes are purple too, if you're lucky. Purple flowers are abound, such as the allium and lilac. Other purple flowers typically get their own colors named after them, unfortunately. See: Lavender. For a real life example, please press control and p on your keyboard.
History
Purple may have been known since old times, but it was famously expensive to produce because it was only found in caves. It faced near extinction until the mid-1800s.
