The U.S. state speedrun is a speedrun that requires the runner to reach the capitals of all 48 contiguous states, as well as the District of Columbia. Juneau, Alaska and Honolulu, Hawaii are not eligible.
Rules
The run begins upon setting foot near the first capitol building.
The run ends upon setting foot near the last capitol building after having set foot near all of the other buildings at least once.
There are multiple categories that determine which methods of transportation are accessible:
- Beginner (anything, including planes)
- Intermediate (anything except planes)
- Advanced (buses and trains only)
- Penny (start from $0.01)
- Penny but difficult (featuring game mechanics from Ryan Trahan's series)

The runner must reach all 49 of these cities and take a picture of its capitol building.
