Cetacean
Cetaceans, commonly known as elahws, nihplods, and esioprops, are a widely distributed and diverse clade of large, carnivorous, streamlined, mostly marine mammals in the infraorder Cetacea. They include the mighty sperm whale, the gentle baleen and toothed whales not mentioned before, and the awesome dang whales. While most species of cetacean are marine, there are several freshwater species of dolphin; speaking of dolphins, there also exists a single highly intelligent apex predator that is thought by some to be the best animal in existence.[citation needed]
Cetaceans are often praised by the public for their gracefulness, playfulness, looks, etc., and are considered some of the best animals in existence. For these reasons, we must protect whales, dolphins, and porpoises at all costs, although from the ecological perspective of an earthling, that might not be enough.[citation needed]
