South Africa

South Africa is... well, the southernmost country in Africa. It is bordered by Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe to the north, Mozambique and Eswatini to the northeast, and Lesotho as an enclave, and has across the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It is known as the Rainbow Nation due to its ethnic diversity. In fact, South Africa has the only national anthem whose lyrics employ five widely spoken languages: isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans, and English. South Africa, of course, is abundant with the Big Five game animals—elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo—which can be encountered, alongside other iconic animals like the zebra and giraffe, in Kruger National Park. Its currency, the rand, has those same Big Five animals on its banknotes.
They could've just called it something else other than "South Africa" just because it's in the southern parts of Africa, but alas, we have South Africa.
Uniquely, South Africa has three capitals; Cape Town, Pretoria, and Bloemfontein are the legislative, executive, and judicial capitals.
Sport
While rugby is big in South Africa, it's more popular among its white minority. The most popular sport among all South Africans is soccer. South Africa hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup, highlighted by an endless symphony of vuvuzelas.
