Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, is an island country off the coast of southern India. Unlike equatorial Ecuador, it lies just north of the equator. Its prevailing languages are Sinhala and Tamil.
Etymology
Sri means "resplendent", while Lanka means "island", and so Sri Lanka means "resplendent island". With shiny gems, rich, tasty spices including cinnamon, and beautiful elephants, it's no secret that Sri Lanka is as resplendent as a quetzal.
