Fictional charcter (/ˈkɑrktəˈr/)[1] is one of the charcters from a thing[2], and also The Wiki Camp 2 i guess. They are portrayed by wiki member Betabug64[3] (Discord: betabug64#1836) and first appeared in The Wiki Camp 2 some time ago as a contestant after adding the user details on to their page. They are designed to parody the fictional characters' pages on Wikipedia, and was also named after fictional characters[4].
Design
Personality
While Fictional charcter remains docile and non-confrontational when left alone, they can be very easily annoyed if they are interrupted by an unexpected change. Their docileness also means that when they are around other people, they are constantly left dumbfounded by everything they see which would lead to them trying to ask a lot of questions about a lot of things, sometimes to the point of general nuisance. They are also very silly and is prone to humiliating themself in any given situation.
Skills
Their wiki-mancing practices[6] at the start of the camp were moderate enough when compared to other participants. But with the lack of humor and general life experience, their style of page creation around the first challenge would often resort to having punchlines be short phrases, stand-alone images, GIFs, or embedded links to YouTube videos. This would eventually change in the next challenge as they start to pick up utilizing CSS to spruce up their team page. By taking a look at the other pages' source code and asking for help in the server, means that they can use the newfound knowledge to further better some of their creations compared to what they did in the previous challenge.
Coverage
Challenge 1
With the invitation reaching their hands at short notice, the wiki page was created without anything for a day due to having to come up with the design, and the general lack of experience editing for the new MediaWiki in general. Eventually, the page was able to make it onto The Wiki Camp 2 as an official competitor after adding basic information. After that, the page went stagnant for a while, but only when the deadline was announced were they able to complete the page once and for all, albeit with poor knowledge on how to import templates from Wikipedia.
Eventually, they have started to find a rhythm on creating wiki pages after their contributions in completing categories such as states and letters of the Alphabet. With them creating wiki pages with simple punchlines and building upon other pages.
Judging
While The Divine Goddess was judging everyone’s pages for Challenge 1, Fictional charcter’s contributions to the community were mostly in the voice chats when She was judging. One of the noteworthy things they have done so far, are contributing to the list of Marios, and creating the Ninji alphabet, where the Ninjis are shaped like alphabets.
After waking up to see another day in The Wiki Camp 2, both in the results of Challenge 1 and in people’s belief in their existence, they were a bit stressed at first since they cannot find their ranking anywhere. When they did they’re still a bit stressed but a little bit relieved, as they have ended up in the 25th place in the competition while Betabug64’s previous Wiki Camper, Wrench, got 14th place in Challenge 1. According to Fictional charcter’s own number crunching they have deduced that they are around the percentage of 24 while Wrench is at the percentage of 20, which by their teams would’ve been “could’ve been worse”.
Challenge 2
As the realization of the dire consequences of what would happen when a contestant is teamless looms over the Wiki Campers, Fictional charcter eventually finds the importance of having a group to be around very crucial. Thus, they asked some fellow participants for the current list of teams to join. Eventually, they found a group of their own teammates who refers to their clan as Team 17. Their acceptance into the group was quick and they quickly feel like they became a part of their team.
Around the time of their team's genesis, Fictional charcter thought to themself that it would be funny if they can photobomb the 1917 meetup in the flesh, which they did. The discovery of their "involvement" in the supposed group photo would eventually be found by Sunny, one of their teammates one and a half day later in the Discord group chat, leaving everyone at the time in shock and awe at how they were even there at the first place.
Thus, the team lore would be further built upon with Hottwick Marsholomew Chocolateson and the creation of the highly classified The best damn hot chocolate recipe ever concieved. Fictional charcter eventually thought that having themself be heavily tied to the events of Team 17 would mean retconning how the other team members would truly meet, but would since ultimately decide against changing anything further with the current lore to the team.
Fictional charcter's notable contributions to the challenge would be tasks such as adding new recruits onto the member list, and stylizing the page using their newfound knowledge of using CSS as their crutch by studying the source code from the other team's pages, furthering their knowledge on creating better pages for hopefully more challenges to come.
Around the tail end of the challenge period, McDonald's Sweet N' Sour Sauce would later congratulate them on their contributions verbally in the voice chat. Giving them massive amounts of gumption for the next challenge or so.
Judging
During downtime would see the increase of art being made from them via their player, betabug64, around The Wiki Camp 2's contestants. Whether it's their shenanigans, or just plain drawings of the characters themselves. This would also see their increase of their interactions with the other members as well, for instance, joining the global hotspot on the server and being more talkative to other contestants in general.
Despite their team's efforts, the placement in Challenge 2 was devestating for Fictional charcter’s team to say the least, with the team being placed the lowest out of all (if teams with no members are not accounted for), resulting in Fictional charcter always insisting that the reason why they were placed so low was because the other teams are just “better” than them. Even with that, they have managed to pull themself together after Copper Pepper has reassured them that the times contributed to their team page won't be in vain[7]. One of the compounded factors in calming Fictional charcter's reaction to the results would also be how the other teams reacted to their results with sympathy, being shocked by the very low placement as well.
While Team 17 has to comply with voting two people out of the camp, if the votes fall into a team-wide tie, then they can spare themselves from ever eliminating anyone in the first place; Team 17 would eventually come up with a strategy to intentionally vote themselves out to save everyone from elimination. Although they are reluctant to trust if everyone would actually voted themselves out, Fictional charcter would also realize that it's for the best of their team, and followed suit.
By the end, due to the team’s sheer amount of camaraderie and trust upon each other, Fictional charcter was able to come out of the voting period completely unscathed. They would also receive a Nutshell Token for the team’s thought-to-be-impossible play, and a Weasel Token for Miso using the said token. This would also mark the first time ever that their player has ever received a token of any kind in The Wiki Camp history.
Challenge 3
With the bombastic way the challenge started with Diary's edit, Fictional charcter would also start to plan their move in the challenge as well with them preparing to contribute in the Edit War in the most impactful way possible. They prepared a lot of weapons, war rations and generally a lot of battle gear to boot, and they have even trained themself to utilize various real-life military tactics from a melange of various YouTube videos.
But by the time Fictional charcter had entered the battleground, the page had already been completely wiped out to a completely blank slate, apart from Tombstone's Google document. Fictional charcter would not notice this due to them entering the page from the very bottom, making the document hardly visible. Eventually, they would start to comment about the emptiness of the area, but it would be immediately that they would welcome this change of scenery and slacked off the war with a six-day nap.
Their rude awakening would come in a form of a page-wide edit by Sock Hater, relegating them to the back of the page. Fictional charcter would soon be reminded that they have already wasted their edit for six days straight. Fearing that a longer slumber here would soon get them into very big trouble, they would also eventually physically retreat themself from the war, but not without reminding their teammates of Team 17 to edit as well.
After being brought back in the fourth version of the page and subsequently being washed out by the fifth, someone on the camp would eventually put Fictional charcter into a more comfortable place, wrapping up their contribution to the edit war. This time, they would opt to sleep it out instead of doing anything about it since they're just having enough of everything already.
Judging
When Fictional charcter was in the Discord voice chat at the end of Challenge 3, they were absolutely gutted to see that their fellow member, Pentagon was not able to make their last-minute edit. With how everyone on the team has tried their best for them to post their edit and how everything played out in real time, Fictional character was understandably struck by massive amounts of grief, as they seemed to have coped with the situation by drinking the team's signature hot chocolate recipe in more quantities than per usual.
The intermediary period was a significant landmark for Team 17, as it had marked their first ever meetup in years on December 17th, 2022 in The Wiki Camp 2's Discord voice chat. This saw most of the Team 17 members and some other competitors gathering together to drink hot chocolate, talk about object shows and see livestreams of Spongebob found dead Jigsaw Piece's player, AlphaAmoeba animating their YouTube video and Copper Pepper getting her personal record on a Goime 500 speedrun. The non-Team 17 members would eventually be given their honorary memberships as a part of their participation.
Team 17 was once again on the chopping block, ending up in the same place as the last challenge, being 16th once again. Even though in the voice chat they have voiced their complaint that it has been yet another wasted potential to place the team at 17th directly to The Divine Goddess, She replied that She could lower their placement for them. Scared for their life that She would actually do what they asked for, Fictional charcter chickened out of the ordeal very quickly.
With self-voting being wiped off the table entirely, Fictional charcter proposed a strategy where the voting could work like a buddy system, where everyone would vote for each other as pairs, once again creating a team-wide tie. This would later be quickly scrapped in favor of everyone voting for Plumbers Hero instead as they would be on quote "an indefinite Discord break". Fictional charcter's reaction of this sacrifice turns out to be less intense than when they have lost Pentagon, as it feels like everybody on the team was also in with the plan.
Challenge 4
The voting saw an unexpected vote for Miso, who got eliminated earlier than expected by a stray vote. Unable to accept the unfortunate fate of their fellow teammate, Fictional charcter fell into deep, deep despair, falling into the habit of drinking their own supply of hot chocolate once again, even worsened when they were let go of their part-time job as a security guard due to these circumstances. With them not wanting to see another of their close associates suffer the same fate as the aforementioned Miso or Mark Genuine, and seeing the prompt of Challenge 4 being to create a "thing", it was certainly fitting that they decided to create plot armor.
With the challenge entry changing first from a patent, then a user guide, and finally a faux-eBay listing, it seems that Fictional charcter was struggling hard to come up with how to present their new invention. Plus, they were also very much burnt out from all of the site's shenanigans, and have begun to fell off from constantly keeping up with the updates. Nonetheless, they have managed to have the page at a complete state by the challenge's end, which was extended to Valentine's Day.
Judging
By the time The Divine Goddess have locked up The Wiki Camp 2 for judging, Fictional charcter has already gotten better from creating Plot armor, and eating the new product that their team member Sunny have also introduced to the challenge dubbed as PopCorners. With the new and kindled spirit healed from grief, they are now able to do more productive things like joining their player in The Wiki Camp BETTER JEOPARDY!!!!!!!!!!!. While their player did not win the game itself, both them and Fictional charcter still won both a good surplus of in-universe money, and both agreed that it was certainly an experience to behold, especially when pressing the buzzer is harder than they were thought possible.
While developing Plot armor, Fictional charcter soon realized the surmounting cost of the entire process of designing, manufacturing and publishing one copy of it alone, which does not even cover the allocated price that they want to save for other things. Thus, as the camp reopens once again, Fictional charcter is now seeking to promote their new patented thing as much as possible, trying to get at least one contestant to buy it to make up for the hefty cost of research and development. This came as soon as they were able to add in tokens as a payment option on their competition page.
The consequences of the new cross-team voting were felt by every team up for elimination, including Team 17. Even with the team trying their hardest to tie the votes, it ended up being that while everyone voted correctly there was one other person who got the stray vote and was not revealed due to a misinput by The Divine Goddess, prolonging the elimination and giving the voting power to everyone in the podium. Even with a heartfelt letter, it was not enough to save the mysterious person who got the boot which was SFD Jigsaw Piece. Completely decimated by the whole ordeal, Fictional charcter decided to call it quit, much to their player's dismay.
Disappearance (Challenge 5-7)
With Fictional charcter's disappearance from the limelight, it has left the portrayer, Beta Bug without contact with them for a very long while. It also does not help matters when the camp goes into long hiatuses where no one is allowed to edit, which only makes the absence from challenges more and more damning. Both of the charcter and their portrayer were also burnt out from participating in more casual activities of the camp, with the former going silent from all of the communication platforms.
In Challenge 5, Beta Bug decided to create a new 'character' to try and fill in the void that Fictional charcter has left, but after various factors, such as their erraticism, uncooperative behavior and "The Gerbin-Kalashnikov Incident", the partnership fell through.
In Challenge 6, in plans to contact Fictional charcter again, tries to use the Touch-Tone Telephone. However, technical grievances with how the device works has left Beta Bug unable to call them back.
In Challenge 7, Beta Bug recieved a mysterious letter addressed to him via the name "GRADY". The letter he read was from Fictional charcter themself, expressing their desire to come back at some point and wishing the current year's meetup well.

Personal life

They receive contracts to work at public places like malls, cinemas, and places with no people. Unfortunately, sometime before Challenge 4 they lost the gig due to their mental health taking a downturn.
Fictional charcter also likes to play games utilizing cards and listen to classic rock anthems during downtime.

[23:49:51] craftenjoyer38 | @PowerAnimator Yeah I guess that does kinda suck a little. [23:50:40] craftenjoyer38 | But like I said before, there are no real stakes and getting in the danger zone just makes things more interesting. [23:50:45] craftenjoyer38 | We still had a lot of fun making our team page.
