<< Return to Explain

There are a wide range of audio files in the radio. Every single one of them will be explained in this page.

All we had to do was follow the damn train, CJ!

This popular line from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is said when Carl Johnson and Big Smoke are far behind a train with Los Santos Vagos on top of them during the mission Wrong Side of the Tracks.

Amhrán na bhFiann

Amhrán na bhFiann (The Soldier's Song) is the national anthem of the Republic of Ireland. Initially composed in English by Peadar Kearney in 1909 to music by Patrick Heeney composed in 1910, it was translated into Irish by Liam Ó Rinn in 1923. Only the chorus of the Irish translation is used as the anthem.

Sinne Fianna Fáil,
atá faoi gheall ag Éirinn,
Buíon dár slua
thar toinn do ráinig chugainn,
Faoi mhóid bheith saor
Seantír ár sinsear feasta,
Ní fhágfar faoin tíorán ná faoin tráill.
Anocht a théam sa bhearna bhaoil,
Le gean ar Ghaeil, chun báis nó saoil,
Le gunna-scréach faoi lámhach na bpiléar,
Seo libh canaig' amhrán na bhFiann.

The Ants Go Marching

Rob Cantor of the "fabloo" rock band Tally Hall, who actually works for Disney Junior, added a bit of swing to the nursery rhyme.

The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one,
The little one stops to suck his thumb
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain

The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching two by two,
The little one stops to tie his shoe
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain

The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching three by three, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching three by three,
The little one stops to climb a tree
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain

The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching four by four, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching four by four,
The little one stops to shut the door
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain

Better Call Saul

Better Call Saul has seen a surge of popularity, along with Breaking Bad, the show it is a spinoff and prequel to. Its main theme (especially the intro) is commonly associated with a 3D rendering of Saul Goodman.

Big Iron

You know why...

To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip
The stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

It was early in the morning when he rode into the town
He came riding from the south side, slowly looking all around
"He's an outlaw loose and running", came a whisper from each lip
"And he's here to do some business with a big iron on his hip"
Big iron on his hip

In this town, there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead
He was vicious and a killer, though a youth of twenty-four
And the notches on his pistol numbered one and nineteen more
One and nineteen more

Now the stranger started talking, made it plain to folks around
Was an Arizona Ranger, wouldn't be too long in town
He came here to take an outlaw back alive or maybe dead
And he said it didn't matter, he was after Texas Red
After Texas Red

Wasn't long before the story was relayed to Texas Red
But the outlaw didn't worry, men that tried before were dead
Twenty men had tried to take him, twenty men had made a slip,
Twenty-one would be the Ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

The morning passed so quickly, it was time for them to meet
It was twenty past eleven when they walked out in the street
Folks were watching from their windows, everybody held their breath
They knew this handsome Ranger was about to meet his death
About to meet his death

There was forty feet between them when they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the Ranger is still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather 'fore a bullet fairly ripped
And the Ranger's aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

It was over in a moment and the folks had gathered 'round
There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground
Oh, he might have went on living, but he made one fatal slip
When he tried to match the Ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

Big iron, big iron
When he tried to match the Ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

Bone Island

The song from Bone Island is the first of the three songs from My Singing Monsters and the only song from a Magical Island currently in the radio. Monsters heard include:

  • Noggin - djembe
  • Toe Jammer - very low "dooooooo, doo wah doo wah"
  • Kayna - "bum badadabum bum"
  • Clackula - bones
  • Fwog - "wow wowow wow wow"
  • Stogg - arpeggiated synth
  • Peckidna - two parts, "yata yata yah" and faintly heard marimba-like sound
  • Phangler - "na na na, nana na na naaa na"
  • Denchuhs - "dada dada dadada rah da dadada"
  • Hawlo - log drum
  • Thrumble - "oh hummmmmmmmmm"
  • Withur - zither
  • Uuduk - duduk
  • Banjaw - banjo
  • Plinkajou - metallophone

Castaways

One of the most popular songs from The Backyardigans, Castaways is a bossa nova song featured in the eponymous episode where Pablo, Tyrone, and Uniqua attempt to survive being stuck in a deserted island after their ship wrecked. The other songs featured in the episode are also bossa nova, as each episode revolves around a specific genre of music.

Castaways, we are castaways
Ahoy there, ahoy, we are castaways
We're stuck where we are with no house, no car
Castaways, ahoy, we are castaways

We were out at sea on a sailing ship
The rain began to rain and the wind began to whip
We felt the ship tip, it was going down
So we launched our lifeboat so we wouldn't drown

Castaways, we are castaways
Ahoy there, ahoy, we are castaways
On an island at sea
Just me, me, and me
Castaways, ahoy, we are castaways

Clair de lune

Clair de lune is the third movement of Claude Debussy's Suite bergamasque, in D♭ major, written in 9/8 meter, and marked andante très expressif. Its name means "moonlight" in French. They say it is mostly known from either Danganronpa or Ultrakill, with this mp3 specifically being the Ultrakill arrangement. It was added because "classical music is certainly comedic, isn't it?", as the edit history shows.

Cow Mooing

This heavily used sound of a cow mooing was added for comedic purposes. Holy cow...

Crowd Chanting Sunny's Name

I don't know how this one came to be, but here we are.

Crowd Cheering

This heavily used sound of a crowd of 30-40 people cheering was added just for the sake of it.

Drunken Pipe Bomb

Drunken Pipe Bomb is the song used in Meet the Demoman in Team Fortress 2, and is commonly interpreted to be his theme. It features the Great Highland bagpipes, Scotland's national instrument.

Forget

File:Forget.mp3 Forget features samples from multiple Disney films. A slowed version has been getting a surge of popularity on TikTok.

Free Bird

The latter half (more specifically the guitar solo) of Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd is popularly used when there is lots of action going on in a scene.

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now
'Cause there's too many places
I've got to see

But, if I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird, you'll can not change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows, I can? t change
Bye, bye, baby it's been a sweet love

Yeah, yeah
Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take it so badly
'Cause the Lord knows
I'm to blame

But, if I stayed here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird, you'll can not change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows, I can't change
Lord help me, I can't change
Lord I can't change

Won't you fly high, free bird, yeah?

Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)

BECAUSE IT'S SO GOOD! It's a classic example of disco in its first surge of popularity, and who else than Swedish legends ABBA?

Half-past twelve
And I'm watching the late show in my flat all alone
How I hate to spend the evening on my own
Autumn winds
Blowing outside the window as I look around the room
And it makes me so depressed to see the gloom

There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away?
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

Movie stars
Find the end of the rainbow with a fortune to win
It's so different from the world I'm living in
Tired of TV
I open the window and I gaze into the night
But there's nothing there to see, no one in sight

There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away?
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight

There's not a soul out there
No one to hear my prayer

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away?
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away?
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day

God Save the King

This was the first national anthem to be added to a country page. This arrangement is by Sir Edward Elgar, though the recording was when Queen Elizabeth II ruled the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

God save our gracious King!
Long live our noble King!
God save the King!
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the King!

O Lord our God arise
Scatter his enemies
And make them fall
Confound their politics
Frustrate their knavish tricks
On thee our hopes we fix
God save us all

Thy choicest gifts in store,
On him be pleased to pour;
Long may he reign:
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the King!

Gymnopédie No. 1

One of three Gymnopédies by Erik Satie, Gymnopédie No. 1 is in D major/D minor and written in 3/4 time. This version has reverb.

Kimigayo

Kimigayo, the Japanese national anthem, is one of the most well-known anthems in the world, admired for its beauty, lyrics, etc. It wishes the emperor a long and everlasting reign.

君が代は
千代に八千代に
さざれ
となりて
苔の生すまで

Laugh Track

This laugh track was added for comedic purposes.

Mazurek Dąbrowskiego

I didn't expect the Polish anthem to be the Low Hangers' anthem as well. Also, there's some sort of classical-esque piece at the very end.

Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła,
Kiedy my żyjemy.
Co nam obca przemoc wzięła,
Szablą odbierzemy.

Marsz, marsz, Dąbrowski,
Z ziemi włoskiej do Polski.
Za twoim przewodem
Złączym się z narodem..

Marsz, marsz, Dąbrowski,
Z ziemi włoskiej do Polski.
Za twoim przewodem

Przejdziem Wisłę, przejdziem Wartę,
Będziem Polakami.

Jak zwyciężać mamy.

Memories

This cover of Memories by Maroon 5 features much of the TWC2 cast. It is still a work in progress, so expect some voice impressions of characters from Family Guy and The Simpsons.

Nagatti si jedha

Nagatti si jedha is an Oromo-language song from Ethiopia by Ali Birra. Its name translates to "I say hello to you".

Ons Heemecht

Ons Heemecht is the national anthem of the small European country of Luxembourg, which turned out to be one of the unwanted pages.

Wou d'Uelzecht durech d'Wisen zéit,
duerch d'Fielsen d'Sauer brécht.
Wou d'Rief laanscht d'Musel dofteg bléit,
den Himmel Wäin ons mécht.
Dat ass onst Land, fir dat mir géif,
heinidden alles won.
Onst Heemechtsland, dat mir sou déif
an onsen Hierzer dron,
onst Heemechtsland, dat mir sou déif
an onsen Hierzer dron.

Pig Grunting

This sound effect of a pig grunting jokingly references the Hogs taking over the radio.

Plant Island

Perhaps the most iconic song in My Singing Monsters, now with lyrics sung by Tawkerr (M) and Parlsona (F), which are as follows:

Every monster knows how the plants grow
And every monster cares
And they know how they shape, and they feed them
And they keep them alive
Let's watch plants grow
Let's watch plants grow

Everything here is alive
Everything here is alive

They sleep when it gets cold, and the leaves turn
They turn red and they turn gold
They need sunlight, and water, and earth, and the air
To keep them alive
That's how plants grow
That's how plants grow

Everything herе is alive
Everything herе is alive
Everything here is alive
Everything here is alive

A note becomes a chord, becomes a phrase, becomes a melody
And a note becomes a monster

Everything here is alive
Everything here is alive

You plant a seed, it settles in
And then it bursts, and then it splits, and makes a twin

Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazon

Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazon is the 6th track from The Mars Volta's 2022 self-titled album, their first album in a decade after the experimental rock and electronic infused Noctourniquet. The song contains both Spanish and English lyrics, and is considered to be within the genre of progressive pop.

So many crosses she could nail you to
But I think that this one will do
Dripping initials from rotting fruit
Look in the mirror and say it three times
¿Qué dice el espejo que se cayó?
Alma vítrea
Que Dios te maldiga, corazón
Slow the drip down
Una voz desde la niebla oscura
Mi cruz al revés lo escondió
Don't block the view
Silhouette of a silhouette
Time-stamped
No nothing of proof
Silhouette of
Silhouette of his control
Has no one considered he'd run? oh-oh
Stole your breath when he's got it
This is a silhouette of his control
Yes, it's loaded, that thing is loaded
He'd always leave it in the safe by her portrait
Yes, it's loaded, that thing was loaded
He'd flash it at you with a hint of a smile
Loaded
Loaded
She feeds her young by remote
With children who conspire to feast on the world

The Rake Hornpipe

The Rake Hornpipe gained popularity after being heavily associated with The Krusty Krab. However, it wasn't composed specifically for SpongeBob SquarePants. It was composed in 1985 with the intent of using it for a training college video, but it didn't end up being used. Now you can hear it in Folk Songs - Story Songs - Part 2.

The hornpipe is a traditional dance from the British Isles originating from the 16th century, and is commonly associated with sailors, which probably explains why this example was used in SpongeBob SquarePants. This hornpipe features concertina and tin whistle.

ryuupekosi

ryuupekosi is a medley of 50 songs in Toki Pona, a constructed language with around 125 words, with vocals by Toki Pona enthusiast Coppersalts, who plays Copper Pepper.

Scotland the Brave

It can't get more Scottish than this. Scotland the Brave is by far the most well-known song a pipe band can play. It can also be used as an unofficial national anthem of Scotland (which has no official anthem); mind you, Flower of Scotland seems to be more popular as a national anthem.

Sea Lion Barking

The iconic barks of the California sea lion are stereotypical for the seal family as a whole. This sound effect, somehow, has reverb.

The Star-Spangled Banner

AND NOW, THE STARS OF THE WIKI CAMP 2 WILL SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.
Michael Bloomberg
O! say can you see by the dawn's early light,
Spike
WHAT SO PROUDLY WE HAILED AT THE TWILIGHT’S LAST GLEAMING,
Niko
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
Statler
O'er the ramparts we watch'd,
Waldorf
were so gallantly streaming?
DiaTheKingOfAllCosmos.png
Sb-arrow.png
And the Rockets' red glare, the Bombs bursting in air,
TheDeviousSeal32
Gave proof through the night
Fivey
that our Flag was still there;
Trixx
O! say does that star-spangled
Thomas
Banner yet wave,

Dia?.png

All
O'er the Land of the free and the home of the brave?

The stars of The Wiki Camp 2 have opted out of the national anthem

State Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Because, somehow, the site icon was changed to a square of the flag of Uzbekistan. The lyrics in Uzbek are as follows:

Serquyosh, hur oʻlkam, elga baxt, najot,
Sen oʻzing doʻstlarga yoʻldosh, mehribon – mehribon!
Yashnagay to abad ilmu fan, ijod,
Shuhrating porlasin toki bor jahon!

Statler and Waldorf

Statler
Man, this music is nonsense.
Waldorf
I wish I were an editor so I could break that radio down!
Statler and Waldorf
Oh ho ho ho!

Statler and Waldorf can't get enough of heckling, don't they?

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Main Theme

The main theme of the iconic Wii game Super Smash Bros. Brawl, sung in Latin, featuring soprano Oriko Takanashi and tenor Ken Nishikiori.

Audi famam illius.
Solus in hostes ruit
et patriam servavit.

Audi famam illius.
Cucurrit quaeque tetigit destruens.

Audi famam illius.
Audi famam illius.

Spes omnibus, mihi quoque.
Terror omnibus, mihi quoque.

Ille
iuxta me.
Ille iuxta me.

Socii sunt mihi,
qui olim viri fortes
rivalesque erant.

Saeve certando pugnandoque
splendor crescit.

Uruguayan National Anthem

Of all national anthems, Uruguay's seems the most operatic, reminiscent of a rousing aria for soloist and chorus. It also features a loooong introduction that's almost a minute long.

CHORUS
¡Orientales, la Patria o la Tumba!
¡Libertad o con gloria morir!
¡Orientales, la Patria o la Tumba!
¡Libertad o con gloria morir!
¡Es el voto que el alma pronuncia,
Y que heroicos sabremos cumplir!
¡Es el voto que el alma pronuncia,
Y que heroicos sabremos cumplir!
¡que sabremos cumplir!
¡Es el voto que el alma pronuncia,
Y que heroicos sabremos cumplir!
¡que sabremos cumplir!
¡sabremos cumplir!
¡sabremos cumplir!
¡sabremos cumplir!

SOLOIST
¡Libertad, libertad, orientales!
Este grito a la Patria salvó
Que a sus bravos en fieras batallas
De entusiasmo sublime inflamó.
¡Libertad, libertad, orientales!
Este grito a la Patria salvó
Que a sus bravos en fieras batallas
De entusiasmo sublime inflamó.
De este don sacrosanto la gloria
Merecimos ¡tiranos, temblad!
CHORUS
¡tiranos, temblad!
¡tiranos, temblad!
SOLOIST
Ah,
Libertad en la lid clamaremos,
Y muriendo, ¡también libertad!

Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)

SMW still loves football, even when the FIFA World Cup is over. He thought it would be a good idea to add the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa to the radio.

Roar!

Tipe, tipe, zangalewa (World Cup! World Cup!)
Tipe, tipe, zangalewa (World Cup! World Cup!)
Tipe, tipe, zangalewa (World Cup! World Cup!)
Tipe, tipe, zangalewa (World Cup! World Cup!)

You're a good soldier, choosing your battles
Pick yourself up and dust yourself off, get back in the saddle
You're on the frontline, everyone's watching
You know it's serious, we're getting closer, this isn't over

The pressure's on, you feel it
But you got it all, believe it
When you fall get up, oh, oh
And if you fall get up, eh, eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa 'cause this is Africa

Tsamina mina, eh, eh
Waka waka, eh, eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa

Listen to your God, this is our motto
Your time to shine, don't wait in line, y vamos por todo
People are raising their expectations
Go on and feed them, this is your moment, no hesitation

Today's your day, I feel it
You paved the way, believe it
If you get down get up, oh, oh
When you get down get up, eh, eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa

Tsamina mina, eh, eh
Waka waka, eh, eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa, anawa-a-a
Tsamina mina, eh, eh
Waka waka, eh, eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa

Abuyile amajoni pikipiki mama, one A up to Z
Bathi susa lamajoni pikipiki mama from East to West
Bathi waka waka mah eh, eh
Waka waka mah eh, eh
Zonk' iZizwe masibuye 'cause this is Africa (Africa, Africa...)

Tsamina mina, anawa-a-a

Tsamina mina, eh, eh

Tsamina mina zangalewa anawa-a-a
Tsamina mina, eh, eh

Tsamina mina zangalewa

When Johnny Comes Marching Home

The Ants Go Marching was actually derived from this Civil War song. Modified lyrics briefly tell the history of the war.
Note: At the time, the word "gay" meant "joyful".

When Johnny comes marching home again,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give him a hearty welcome then,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Oh, the men will cheer the boys will shout
The ladies they will all turn out,
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.

Get ready for the Jubilee,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give the hero three times three,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Well, the laurel wreath is ready now
To place upon his loyal brow,
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we'll all feel gay
When Johnny comes marching home.

In eighteen hundred and sixty-one
Hurrah! Hurrah!
That was when the war begun,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
In eighteen hundred and sixty-two,
Both sides were falling to,
And we'll all drink stone wine,
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we'll all drink stone wine,
When Johnny comes marching home.

In eighteen hundred and sixty-three,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Old Abe, he ended slavery
Hurrah! Hurrah!
In eighteen hundred and sixty-three
Old Abe, he ended slavery
And we'll all drink stone wine,
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we'll all drink stone wine,
When Johnny comes marching home.

In eighteen hundred and sixty-four,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Abe called for five hundred thousand more,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
In eighteen hundred and sixty-five,
They talked rebellion--strife;
And we'll all drink stone wine
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we'll all drink stone wine
When Johnny comes marching home

Shop Radio

The Shop Radio is a variant of the normal radio featuring various shop and relaxing themes from video games. It is used in Ravio's Shop on the Main Page.
