Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic is a country that comprises the eastern half of the island of Hispaniola, bordered to the west by Haiti. Like Cuba, it is a hotspot for tourists, especially in the likes of Punta Cana and the capital Santo Domingo. The Dominican Republic is well-known for merengue, a fast-paced genre of music and dance that is a national treasure, performed everywhere from dance clubs to baseball dugouts.

Baseball
Another similarity with Cuba is the Dominican Republic's love for baseball. The six-team LIDOM is the country's highest level of play, occurring in the winter. Many Dominicans currently play in Major League Baseball, though MLB game day atmospheres don't compare to those abroad.
