Equatorial Guinea

Not to be confused with Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, or Papua New Guinea.

Equatorial Guinea, as the name suggests, is pretty much close to the equator. Except, it's not, though Annobón is on the other side of the equator, making it have territory on both sides of the equator, similar to Kiribati. Similarly, the now former capital Malabo isn't even on the mainland; it's on an island. However, they did build a new capital on the mainland.

The national football team shocked the world by finishing top of their group in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
