Jordan (country)
Jordan is a country in the Middle East, and it is named Jordan after the eponymous river, just like how Mississippi was named after the eponymous river. Rivers are long water, and just so happen to be a humble abode of society since ancient times, and so the Jordan River gave rise to Jordan, the country. Jordan is ruled by the Hashemites, and is known for the ancient city of Petra. It also borders the Red Sea. Yeah. It's not landlocked.
Jordan is the runner-up of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, after the national team upset South Korea only to lose to hosts Qatar.
